Introudction

Extracurricular activities are activities performed by students that fall outside the realm of the normal curriculum of school or university education. Extracurricular activities exist at all levels of education, from junior high/high school, college and university education. Such activities are generally voluntary as opposed to mandatory, non-paying, social, philanthropic as opposed to scholastic, and involve others of the same age. Students often organize and direct these activities under faculty sponsorship, although student-led initiatives, such as independent newspapers, are common. Sachal Engineers' Literary Forum (SELF) Self is a social and literary forum, it's main function is to work for better educational environment at  Quaid-e-Awam university of engineering science and technology Nawabshah by arranging extra curriculum activities e.g. speech \ debate competitions, lecture, culture programs on different issues. SELF also works for welfare of QUEST students self serve the humanity by arranging blood donating camps. Self is hunting new talented students and giving them chance to boost their confidence. It certainly decreases the communication gap between students and teachers. SELF also aware the student about their social responsibilities SELF main present and future programs are Sachal souvenir magazine, ‘Knowledge is Power’ SMS service throughout Pakistan Departmental lectures and social lectures Quiz competitions Technical workshops SELF was founded by BABAR JAGIRANI 06 computer system student at QUEST Now a days SELF working smoothly at QUEST in the supervision of present Chief coordinator SANJAY RAJA DODANI STUDENT OF 08 CIVIL.

OBJECTIVES: 

A goal or objective is a projected computation of affairs that a person or a system plans or intends to achieve a personal or organizational desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines. It is roughly similar to purpose of aim, the anticipated result, which guides reaction, or an end, which is an object, either a physical object or an abstract object that has intrinsic value. SELF also have a charter of aims and objective. Basically SELF is an organization, focusing to QUEST. But as well trying to literate society in different ways, and organize many programs for awareness of society that what are their rights socially and what are society rights upon you and if both not fulfilling their role that which reasons behind that and which solutions are:

v                To work for better image of QUEST in university Pakistan

As in above mentioned that Self focusing to QUEST, it is important part of its charter to work for better image of QUEST in the Ranking in Pakistan Universities. SELF continuous struggling and working for improve educational system and student qualities, in this regard organizing different programs and workshops.

v                To Expose Merits & Demerits

What are merits and demerits and what place do they occupy in the path of liberation of the soul?

Merit: merit characteristics

·        People do not realize the true benefit. For example, people underestimate the benefit of education.

Demerit: Demerit characteristics:

·        People don’t realize, or ignore the benefits

v                To organize sports events and facilitate to students

SELF is itself working as extra curriculum forum and working for grooming extra curriculum activities. Sports are top in healthy activities. SELF is continuous working for to organize sports event in university level for provide to students healthy activities.

v                Importance of Knowledge

Knowledge is power is an English term regarding importance of knowledge. Knowledge is basic need of any person in his life/career especially in current era. SELF realize this fact and working for distributing multiple sorts’ knowledge through wide media of mobiles under the name of KP messaging service. KP is nationwide messaging service. This is distributing quality knowledge and also trying to close students of different institutes.

v                Providing Plate to Students/Youngsters to Highlight their Qualities

Lack of sufficient platform for showing their power and performance is serious matter now a day. SELF working to decrease gap between teacher and learner and equally offering/motivating to all generation that show their qualities through his platform. Highlight their talent and implement message to other that break your silence and show your abilities for personal betterment for society betterment.

Technology and Realities

A great saying, “You can avoid reality but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality”

Minds differ at finger print but every independent personal opinion is more variable, informative and worthy than other views. Science and technology helps a man to a certain facts, it gives him training in observation, widens immensely horizon of mind, extends its range, makes life more interesting and gives optimism. Its true that human beings were at the mercy of cruel nature before the birth of modern science and technology. No one can deny the discoveries that brought revolution in agriculture, industry, health and education. But this is not the whole story. Lets discuss the worst side of technological coin.

We are not only bodies and minds, we are spirits and souls, we dream and imagine, chat and sleep, think and reason, in short we have hearts, wishes, divine souls, feelings, and passion. But there are some blood curdling realities which badly affect all these things.

The worst thing that I see is the ‘Atom’, which cultivated unbelievable pains, danger and worries in human minds. As Albert Einstein himself says. “I will never forgive myself for uncovering of the atomic power”.

Now am I not right to curse the destructive atom, which washed Lacs of people in twinkling of an eye when it was thrown on the cities of JAPAN, which is Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

“ATOM FOR PEACE” is only a slogan. The west use tools of peace as a weapon of war. Poisonous gases are invented, machine guns and bombs are manufactured, armies are equipped to kill and plunder, burn and ruin the innocent humanity with automatic war weapons in no time.

Medicines are not only for life saving. Death is also the target of these medicines. The use of ready-made edible items is on its peak around the world but adulteration and malnutrition caused irreparable loss to human health.

See the advancement if media which is unchecked, immoral, and so liberal that fractured our social values, ethos and norms. The young mind is infused with vulgarity which brought more problems to the already damaged generation. Media is not only source of the truth but also propaganda, antagonism, lies, and immodesty.

Technology gives us a sense of power and everyone knows the misuse of power is……….! Men drunken with power are very dangerous if not ruled by wisdom. It doesn’t mean that technological advancement must be stopped, rather should be used intelligently. As a scholar says;

“To get something you never had, you have to something you never did, but if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got”.

Technology brought bless to the humanity, but also a big destruction. In fact, technology itself doesn’t bring harms, but men misuse it and bring violation in the world.

I will never forgive the beastly souls which brought humanity at the brim of destruction, and discovered new means of eradicating humanity from the globe. 

Aristotle says, “We are better than Angels, if we lost the Sense of Prejudice!”
